Soppina Bus Saru
This is one of my favorite Saru. The best thing about it is we get palya at the end of preparing saru, need not spend another extra time preparing the palya. Hot ragi balls and rice with ghee is the best combination.
Ingredients.
1. Palak Soppu- 250 grms
2. Sabbaki Soppu - 100 grms
3. Togare bele- 1 full cup
4. Onions - 3
5. Grated cocount
6. Garlic - 4-5
7. Jeera - 4 tsp (major)
8. Tamarind juice -1/2 small cup
9. Mustard seeds
10. Curry leaves
11. dried red chilies - 3
12. Green chilies - 4
13. Salt
14. Strainer
15. Coriander powder -1/2 tsp
16. Red Chili powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Method:
1. Put chopped palak, sabbaki soppu and togare bele in a cooker. Mix water as required, add salt.Keep the same for the pressure cooker - 2 whistle.
2. Strain the same once the whistle is over. By this water and palya gets separated.
3. For palya hogaranne : In a pan, put 4-5 tsp of oil , add medium shaped chopped 2 onions and green chilies . Add curry leaves and coriander leaves also. Later add the palya and mix well.
4. Saru : In a pan fry 1 chopped onion, garlic, curry leaves and jeera.
5. Grind: Grind the above fried ingredients with grated coconut, coriander leaves, tamarind juice, chili powder. For the same mixture add little bit of palya (the ingredient kept in the cooker) and grind again.
6. Saru hogaranne : In a vessel, put 2 tsp of oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, dried chili and then add this grind mixture and keep stirring it. Add the water which you would have got from strainning the palya. Add salt if required.
7. Palya and Bus saru is ready.
The same Bus Saru can be done with other combinations as well.
